It is common practice among the Ba-’Alawi to take bay’ah of tabarruk-not tahkim from an ‘Alim or a Shaykh. As for the suluk of tahkim, the Ba-’Alawis are firm on the path of Imam Muhammad Ibn ‘Ali al-Faqih al-Muqaddam.
