Salam wa Rahmatullah,
I simply wanted to voice my support for you and the Shaykhs of your tariqah (Allah protect them and raise their station in this life and the next) against the blatant lies and calumnies currently being hurled at them on the repulsive Sunni Forum.
My blood boils at the ignorant and baying lynch-mob out in force on that forum. I won’t call myself a murid of Maulana Shaykh Nazim (Damat Barakatuhum), even though I gave him bayah in 2003. I gave bayah but didn’t live up to it’s conditions. Unlike some of the liars on Sunni Forum, I will not use my (very) odd and sporadic attendance at Naqshandi-Haqqani zikr sessions as a mark of genuinely sincere fellowship.
Look, for what it’s worth, I’m barely a Muslim in the sense of praxis and am constantly skating close to outright apostasy. However, when I’m right at the bottom of the gutter, spiritually speaking, for some reason I’m drawn towards the words/sohbets of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (DB). The baraka of his words makes me affirm my shahada. Maybe even pray and fast occasionally. True, I don’t suddenly become a bare-minimum practicing Muslim, but I do at least remain one in my heart. People are at different levels. My level is to not fall into outright atheism or agnosticism or hatred of Allah. Wallahi, I KNOW in my heart that Allah keeps me in this deen through the baraka of His Friend, Mawlana Nazim (DB).
I would like to join that repulsive forum and say some words in the defence of a truly good man, a caller to the love of Allah and His Beloved (peace be upon him), a man of compassion and understanding in a world of ignorance and cruelty. However, my anger is such that I could not maintain even a bare-minimum of akhlaq. My language towards the slanderers of a Friend of God would be that of the gutter.
Anyway, I apologise for this rant. I just wanted to vent my anger after reading that sewer of a thread on Sunni Forum that you are nobly wading through at the moment. Feel free not to publish my words above on your blog as I’m sure they’re inappropriate (however good the intention behind them).
Please ask Shaykh Abdul-Kerim (DB) to make dua for me sidi. Your dua would be much appreciated too.
May Allah reward your patience and good manners in the face of flesh-devouring cannibals. After all, if slander is eating the flesh of a fellow Muslim then what else can one call the slanderer?
