LOL.
what i don’t get is why it’s a-ok to wear a mask (not that i think it’s not a-ok) but not a face veil? i can honestly attest that in the years when i wore niqab, i had significantly less illness and allergies, mashaAllah.
when i went to the hospital for a “class” that was required for my last surgery, it came out that i was scheduled super early in the morning because i have a latex allergy and they wanted to do my surgery first before anyone else came in and contaminated any of the areas (other women were complaining about their 8am arrival times, LOL. i had to be there at 5am). so when i said that the reason for my earlier time was the latex allergy, the nurse teaching the class said “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH, that’s why you wear that thing on your face, because you have allergies”… and while what i was thinking is “how can ANYONE still be that ignorant, and stupid enough to display it so unprofessionally”, what i managed to say was “uh, no, i wear this because i’m Muslim. it just happens to also protect me from allergens and germs.”
geez, and now i’m reminded, once again, why i crave to wear niqab.
