When the Holy Prophet (SalAllahualayhiwasallam) sighted the moon of Rajab, he used to pray to Allah in the following words:
“O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Sha’ban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadan.”
The Holy Prophet (S) said, “Rajab is the month of Allah. Shaban is my month. Ramadhan is the month of my ummah (followers).” ”
Last week, Sheykh Abdul Kerim al-Kibrisi announced the forthcoming arrival of Rajab, Shaban and Ramazan, three sacred months. Rajab is a time to focus ourselves and turn our attention towards recognizing the importance of these times. Sheykh encouraged everyone to continue or begin anew their spiritual efforts by fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, a Sunnah of the Prophet (S) and keeping tightly to their wird and extra worship.
