120,000 Ottoman soldiers, out gunned and ill prepared for winter conditions, were driven to their fate, not only at the hands of Russian heavy artillery, but, to frostbite under the command of Enver Pasha, a Union and Progress Party figure (İttihat ve Terakki Cemiyeti). Thousands perished on The Allahuekber mountains without firing a single shot. This was one of the many methods employed by Enver and other masons to weaken the Ottoman Empire. Footage by occupying Russian forces.
Only 40,000 survived
One of the most important sources about the Sarıkamış Campaign is the memoirs of Köprülülü Şerif Bey. He mentions that they did not even possess a proper map of the region.
In his memoirs, Şerif Bey writes: “Let us make up our mind about this: For us, Sarıkamış has not only been a great lesson, but also a bright chapter of our history. Future generations should know that we met this fate because we sought salvation following a wrongly created man. History has witnessed that a great Turkish army has fought due to the greed of an ignorant and mad commander.”
“OSMANLI troops fought on the top of tall mountains under snowstorm against the artillery of an enemy of centuries and they were completely annihilated, but not a single soldier has ever turned his back to his nation… ın Sarıkamış, there was no panic.”
[1915]

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,
SubhanAllah, this is such a sad video..
The things those great men did and the sacrafices they made just so they could ensure that Islam would be protected for the future generations.. And to think that we actually have imbeciles in this Ummah who dare look back at these pious predecessors with feelings of contempt..
What a backwards world were living in where the worst of the Muslims feel they have the ability to judge those who gave their lives for Islam..
Fatiha for all the martyrs.
It’s oblivious you are not Turkish, but what is your view on the “Armenian Genocide”
HOR,
What is your view on the Gaza genocide?
Also, lets not forget the Iraqi genocide, the Afghan genocide, the Chechen genocide and the Bosnian genocide. Need more?
@HOR
Quoting from:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enver_Pasha#Armistice_and_exile
“On 1 January 1919, the new government expelled Enver Pasha from the army. He was tried in absentia in the Turkish Courts-Martial of 1919-20 for crimes of “plunging the country into war without a legitimate reason, forced deportation of Armenians and leaving the country without permission” and condemned to death.”
Wow wow number one I was asking Yursil, on what he thinks on the “Armenian Genocide” and if you notice I put quots around the word “Armenian Genocide” I see he is a big Turk fan and wanted to see what he says that’s it, moreover my mom is Turkish and I debated the “Armenian Genocide” with several Armenians ok people, so don’t bring up Afghan, Chechen, Bosnian, and Gaza genocide because I feel they are all genocides also you trow in the genocides of Cyprus and Bulgaria. Let’s not forget who saved Turkey from a genocide from the Europeans Atta Truk not a sufi shake or a sultan.
Mr Edin not saying this information is wrong, but Wikipedia is used for K-8 also many secondary teacher refuse as a source. Also never give Wikipedia to a collage professor as a source.
Also if Armenian gave me something from Wikipedia I will not take it. About two weeks ago I saw several Armenian lobbyist on the DC Metro, and every other word out of their mouth was Armenian Genocide, I was tempted to say something, but I had an uncle was held at gun point by Armenian terrorist in LA, back in the early 80’s is name is John now. And when I was in collage I debated the subject with an Armenian and started to fight me my Bronx street fighting came in handy. This is why I decided to not say a word I wanted to also I was on my way to work.
Armenians are a very dangerous group, they have wings that are terrorist they have a hand in the Kurdish problem in Turkey. Back in the 80s in LA, they had a program kill a Turk a week. Groups like the Young Turks in America have been fighting Armenians for many years. I would like to see the red turban fighters of the Naksbendi’s step up to the mic and fight Armenian terrorist and the Blue turbans with the prophet bloodline honer that line.
I also recommend “Blood and Oil: The Middle East in World War I” (2006)

Selam aleykum,
The ‘young turks’ group in America is comprised of members that do not live an Islamic/Turkish lifestyle.
None wear traditional sunnah clothing of the Turks. Many drink alcohol publicly and display tattoos.
Unfortunately, their lifestyle and political and social functions endorse western non-Muslim life for the Muslim youth
The Ottoman Empire, at the end became weak in many different aspects, The Young Turks had a Revolution kind of like in Cuba, to rid the corrupt system. They where reforming a country that was getting attacked in several different locations by Europeans. Yes they are off the deen may Allah guide them, but if it was not for the Young Turks and Mustafa Kamal, mordern Turkey would not exist it would perhaps be Greece and Cyprus would for sure be Greece. The end of the Ottoman Empire was sick and dieing and they did not represent Islam like the Sultans of old.
I can tell you one thing if a group of Armenians went to your sufi camp and beat everyone up for being Turks, and you call The Young Turks I bet they will have your back 100%. Naksbendi after all not the fighting type just peace lovering sufi’s.
BismillahirRahmanirRahim
The Ottoman Empire, as most know already, was an Islamic state that lasted for 600 years.
In its weakest era, which is the beginning of The End of Times, the kafirs of Europe had labeled the Empire “The Sick Man of Europe”.
The republic of turkey has been from the beginning and continues to be very weak in many aspects.
Masha’Allah, the Ottoman Empire mobilized 6 million troops to fight 15 different fronts. But it was the blow that was dealt within that decapitated Islam. That blow was from ‘parti de la jon turc’ better known now as young turks. They took the norms of kafir france and conspired to bring down the Empire.
Ever since the Ottomans were removed from power, the ummah has been suffering.
But alhamdulillah, in its weakest time, when the kafirs from outside and the hidden kafirs from inside were attacking, at least nobody had a doubt that the Ottoman Empire was still a man.
We can never thank the great Ottoman Empire and its troops at the Battle of Sarikamish enough. They kept the dignity of Islam and Muslims high. May Allah grant them higher stations in Paradise.
Bismillahir Rahmaanir Rahiim
Asalaamu alaikum.
This argument is quite silly. Thank you Ekrem for trying to bring some truth into the conversation.
HOR, I do not understand why you are reading and commenting on a blog that you so clearly dislike. It is disrespectful to the author, and it is a poor use of your own time. You obviously have an issue with the Ottomans and with Naksibendis. You have every right to hold your opinions, but why then come to a blog that is about Ottomans and Naksibendis and try to stir up controversy?
It is obvious that you do not know much of the history you are claiming, nor anything at all about Naksibendis. There is nothing wrong with being “peace loving”, Islam is about peace. However to claim that the Naksibendis do not fight in a just cause is incorrect, as history has shown that our leaders have risked their own lives against injustice time and time again. Again, this is because we do believe in peace, but we understand that you must fight against tyranny to achieve true peace.
And please, do not even try to compare the Young Turks to the Cuban revolution. I don’t think the revolutionaries of Cuba would even appreciate being compared to thugs intent on westernizing their nation. The Cuban revolution was about more than just combatting corruption, it was about combatting oppression as well and it had the backing of the Cuban masses. The same can certainly not be said for the heavy-handed and oppressive Young Turks and Kamal.
Well I don’t have an issue with the Ottomans, I have Turkish roots, and proud of my Ottoman ancestors, for fighting in the name of Allah, moreover Ottomans did not sit around talking about peace acting like soft sufi man, they had blood on their swords they took over Istanbul, not with peace but with war, Islamic war. I know my history I am not like ekrem, getting my history from Wikipeadia, I read my history all the time from academic sources, not elementary sources. Maybe I don’t know much about Naksibendis movement as much as you, but I been to your meetings several times, and read your blogs to know you have invented in our beloved deen of Islam and history with; all this peace talk like a budist monk needs to stop read your islamic history read about the sahaba. Yes and I have to comment on your websites and blogs because its my duty as a Muslim to protect our deen.
What you must understand that in history books from Istanbul to Georgetown, the last years of the Ottoman where sick, and if people like Kamal Atta Turk, and the Young Turks did not step in Turkey would be Greece today, this is a fact that historians agree on this is facts.
Yes many of the groups that replaced the Ottoman where anti religion, but why where they like that because the actions of the Sultan.
And yes I did and will compare the Young Turks with the Cuban revolution. The young Turks saved a country a people , so to call them thugs is wrong , many people called the Cubans thugs as well. But look at Cuba today did their revolt work a 100% no. Look at modern day Turkey due to the efforts of Mutafa Kamal and the Young Turks it’s doing allot better than Cuba, so maybe I was wrong for comparing the two revolutions Turks had a more successful revolution and saved Turkey from mass genocide and takeover . I can tell you one thing the masses was with Kamal Atta Truk and the Young Turks not the dieing Ottoman. Take a survey today in Turkey, and ask them the question about the Young Turks they are loved.
Bismillahir Rahmaanir Rahiim
Asalaamu alaikum.
“Yes and I have to comment on your websites and blogs because its my duty as a Muslim to protect our deen.”
Really? Do you honestly think that ill-mannered comments on a blog are going to help “protect” the deen? And exactly who are you to think you are protecting the deen? I am really laughing at this, I am sorry. My Naksibendi Shaykh is a protector of the deen. But as someone who is glorifying those who hate Islam, I don’t know how you can in the same breath be claiming to protect the deen.
It is high time that lowly Muslims who cannot even keep the five pillars and from whom other Muslims are not safe from the evil of their tongue stop getting grandiose airs that they have any business making “war” on anyone. SubhanAllah, there is nothing wrong with peace. There is nothing wrong with peace. The root of Islam is peace. There is nothing wrong with peace. It is very clear to me that you have never attended a Naksibendi meeting, and you are making things up. My Shaykh speaks very forcefully, but we also recognize that it is ourselves we are truly at war with and we must be hard on ourselves before we dare to be hard on others.
Please, you are protecting nothing; indeed you are sullying the deen further with your ravings. Blog platforms are free and simple to use. Why don’t you write your own blog where you can express yourself to your heart’s content, and leave alone that which does not concern you. If we are in error, may Allah guide us. But I seriously doubt He is going to use someone like you who speaks with no adab or knowledge to guide anyone. I am just confused why you would keep coming back to a place where you so dislike the author and other commentors, and I would recommend that you seriously ask yourself why you are putting on such vanity and show.
