One Donkey’s Journey

Once Shaykh Abdul Kerim was speaking about those who go to visit special holy places, and the magnitude of those places. In much better words, he was saying the certainly people who visit these places find themselves amplified afterwards. If one enters a place as a donkey, they may come back worse than twelve donkeys. If one visits with a clean heart, they may find so many thing opening up to them.

As I write this I am in Cyprus on the occasion of the meeting of Shaykh Abdul Kerim visiting Shaykh Maulana Nazim al-Hakkani in Cyprus, with an extended stay allowing for some time for me to visit certain holy sites in Istanbul as well.

Is this meaningful for me? Extremely. Much better people than me would benefit more than me going on this journey. But, maybe somehow I will find some opportunity to be of service, inshaAllah I will be.

Ya Rabbi.. don’t take away your mercy from this sinner..
