When Hazrat Abu Bakr (ra) wanted to go to the privy (bathroom), he
would set up two stools and say, “You are the Noble Scribes, the
Familiars of the Divine Presence, and are immune from this affliction.
Sit here on these stools; I swear to you to say nothing for which I
should be ashamed before you.” Then he would wrap a towel about
himself and say, “If they send the Angel of Death at such a moment,
what will be my state?”
