My shaykh, Shaykh Effendi Abdul Kerim who is a deputy of Shaykh Maulana and was raised in Shaykh Maulana Nazim’s presence, told us this story…

Ah when there was (a different Shaykh) he had one mureed, came latest. And he always show so much care to that one. Those mureeds that are following him for 50 years, 60 years, 40 years, they are all aiming saying “we are going to be after him”. And at that time they had a right to be thinking a little bit.. as they knew there was some time before that one and Imam Mahdi (AS) time. (laughing)

So that ones looking that the Shaykh is liking someone. They don’t like it. this one just came new, the big deputies giving order to this one. They are telling him to this, time to time another one comes saying “why are you doing that? do this”

So he is obeying everyone.. Time to time the Shaykh is coming and asking where is that one?

So they know they Shaykh loves that one and the deputies are pounding that one, clean the toilet. Another one comes tells him to do that.

So then after some time they are sitting with the Shaykh.. and the Shaykh asks how long are you following me?

One deputy answers, “Oh my Master, 60 years. ”

“Assuming you have the power of Allah in your hand. For just split second, think you have that power, what would you do?”

“Hasha my Shaykh!”

Shaykh says, “I know it is hasha just tell me what would you do? ”

“Oh my Shaykh its known to you, I would not leave a single man not in prostration. I will make everyone in prostration.”

Shaykh says, “Ok good answer, fits to you.”

Another one he asks how long are you with me?

“50 years my shaykh”

Shaykh says, “What would you do?”

The deputy says, “I will not leave any wrong association, I will close them all, and I will build more musjids and more places for people to pray”

“MashaAllah good answer, just fits to you.”

Shaykh asks that new one, “You, how long you are following me?”

“3 years my Shaykh”

Shaykh asks “What will you do if you had that power in your hands?”

“It is known to you my shaykh.. I will leave everything as it is. ”

“Why?”

“Everything is perfect as it is. Allah knows, that is why He is letting like that to happen.”

The Shaykh says, “You see? You following me for 60 years, I give you split second power of Allah and you make everyone in prostration? You? You closing everything but everything has its own balance, its own secret. So that one knows you see.. He is keeping everything as it is, because he is not aiming to that station. You are aiming for some station, so you have to do something.”

Alhamdulillah InshaAllah we will be like that one. Not thinking not seeing anything wrong, but if there is something wrong.. in ourselves.

That is the proper manner for a mureed to think and accept and to folow. Otherwise, then you find wrong in everything in that time, then you find wrong in Allah. Then you look in the mirror, and say.. ohh… so many people looking and doing.. saying, if you were to have one more eyes here then you will be perfect.. that is why they are putting in photoshop (laughing) ..
