My new favorite band? Don’t know yet, ordered all CDs though here:
Lyrics:
The soul and love became united,
Then into this realm they both came,
Together they’re always undivided,
Joined forever their source the same.
After the two were mingled and blended,
In a mixing that took place in such a way,
That all their boundaries were transcended,
Ever since then together they stay.
And so it was in this amazing manner,
That love and the soul were forever blended,
Joined by the One Who is the best Planner,
Both vanish in this mixture so splendid.
From the very strength of this blended state,
The soul with love has become united,
Which is the essence and which is the trait,
I don’t see how this could be decided.
Maybe it’s love that’s become the essence,
While it’s attribute may be the soul,
Not knowing which has become the quintessence,
I can?t say which one plays which role.
I can’t really say if it’s this way or that,
I just don’t know what it is in the end,
There’s no other way I can’t be exact,
This mixture is such a wonderful blend.
The result of this process was awesome indeed,
Both love and the soul forever connected,
The two of them speak and the words each one heeds,
Mingled and blended together protected.
The basis of love is said to be fire,
While the soul is derived from the wind,
The wind itself it ignites this fire,
And the fire then consumes the wind again.

Their Sheykh’s name is Sheykh Fattah . I think he’s a good friend of Seyyid Nazim Effendi (qs)

Salam Yursil. It’s a bit jazzy for me but I like it!

Salaam ‘Alaikum
I often have one of their songs running through my head, but the only thing that makes me wary is that the women appear in the videos with lots of makeup on and singing, and it is my personal understanding that women are not to sing in mixed gendered settings (YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY, I’m only talking about my **personal** reaction to them). So… I sometimes feel this way and that way about them. I do notice that while they’ve very popular in SE Asia, they get almost zero attention in America, even though most of them are Americans (if not all of them?) But then again, I’m sort of thinking that the practicing Muslims in the US tend to be, almost by default, much more conservative than they would be here in the ME or elsewhere. (For example, music being played at an Islamic school here, even though the parents and staff would flip if music was being played at this same school’s branch in the USA).

Walaikumassalam Umm Zaid!
You are right, they don’t get really any attention in the US. Although I think only a handful of them are actual Americans, the rest seem to be Turkish or Indonesian. I had never heard of them before…then the lead singer had posted a message on the Osmanli Naksibendi yahoo groups inviting us to check out this video.
I am a bad judge of whether women are wearing makeup
As far as the singing, I think they have found a way to be very conservative while getting the job done.
I think I appreciate that effort, and it certainly resonates with good intentions, and that is why I am liking them more and more.

A bit pop spiritual, but I like it, and a very handsome and lovely group also
I think if they played more spiritual music once in a while, it would only enhance their reputation.
Thank you for the music

It sounds good but I have this gut feeling that it’s getting a little too new age. My teachers here are rather strict about music.
