GENEALOGY OF QAZI MOIZ UDDIN :
Available chronicles show that Qazi Qidwa’s lineage (henceforth, this short name, which is more popular, will be used) connects him to Hazrat Adam, and rightly so, since Muslims believe that mankind started its existence on this earth when Adam and his wife were deported from heaven. Thus the available chronicles show the lineage connecting Qazi Qidwa to Hazrat Adam. The accuracy of these Shijras is very difficult to establish. Some of them put Qazi Qidwa in the 54th generation from Hazrat Adam, some at the 57th generation. These Shijras agree with one another until the appearance of Hazrat Yaqub aleh es Salaam, grandson of Hazrat Ibrahim, whose laqab was Israel. Israel is an Arabic word made up of two syllables–’Isra’ and ‘el’. The first syllable refers to the person who travels during the night, and ‘el’ is only a consonant. How this word was coined for Hazrat Yaqub is described in the Bible in Chapter 27 of Genesis and Qasas-ul-Ambia. It has been said that one day Hazrat Ishaq, the father, asked for some food, which was served by one of his sons. Ishaq, being blind in old age, thought that Aes, his elder son, had served the food, and he therefore blessed him by saying, “You will become the next Prophet”. In reality, it was Hazrat Yaqub, the younger son, who served the food and thus received the blessing. Hazrat Aes was distrurbed when he learned of the blessing, since he, being the elder brother, should rightfully have received his father’s blessing. To diffuse the situation, Hazrat Yaqub andhis family left his father’s house and traveled through the night. This act on the part of Hazrat Yaqub gave him the laqab of Israel. Thus, Bani Israel means “a progeny of Hazrat Yaqub” and nothing more, and the notion that all Bani Israelites are Jews is not correct.
The first deviation in the available Shijras takes place when some of them show the lineage of Qazi Qidwa through Hazrat Yaqub’s elder son Yahuda and others through the younger son, Lava. Again, there are two deviations through the two sons of Yahuda, Oman and Farsam. Thus we have three Shijras: one from Lava, one from Farsam and a third from Omar. The two from Lava and Farsam show Alexander the Great at the sixth generation from Hazrat Moosa and carry on through Salim, shown as a son of Alexander. This seems to be incorrect; it is known that Alexander did not have any progeny, and consequently, his empire was distributed between his generals after his death. There is only one Shijra that is from Hazrat Ibrahim through Hazrat Yaqub, Yahuda and Omar, which probably shows Qazi Qidwa’s lineage correctly. However, w e are still not sure about this because the gap between Prophet Muhammad and Qazi Qidwa is only of six generations, while time period elapsed between the two individuals’ lives is about 6000 years. Therefore, the dynastic lineage through Malik Danishmend Ghazi, who was connected to Saiyed Battal, may be taken as the most likely true genealogy of Qazi Qidwa (See Annexure 11).

QAZI QIDWA WAS BORN DURING THE YEAR 1135 A. D. IN THE ROYAL PALACE OF ROME. HE BECAME THE DISCIPLE OF HAZRAT KHWAJA USMAN HAOONI, TO ACQIRE RELIGIOUS AND SPRITUAL KNOWLEDGE AND INTELEGENCE, INCIDENTLY THE FAMOUS SUFI SAINT HAZRAT KHWAJA MOIN UDDIN CHISHTI OF AJMER WAS ALSO THE DICIPLE OF HAZRAT KHWAJA USMAN HAROONI. BOTH OF THEM HAD DONE BAIT WITH KHWAJA USMAN HAROONI AND WERE AWARDED KHILAFAT BY HIM. LIKE HIS FATHER QAZI QIDWA FULLY ENGAGED HIMSELF IN PREACHING OF ISLAM. THE TITLE ‘QIDWA’ WHICH IN ARABIC MEANS GUIDE OF THE PATH (RAH DIKHANEWALA) WAS GIVEN TO HIM BY HIS PEER HAZRAT KHWAJA USMAN HARRONI. QAZI QIDWA ACHIEVED A LOT OF FAME AND RESPECT FOR HIS KNOWLEDGE , SPRITUALITY AND RELIGIOUS INTELLIGENCE IN THE ISLAMIC WORLD.
AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS FATHER, AS PER TRADITION IN THE THEN ROME ,HE BECAME THE QAZI OF THE STATE AND HIS YOUNGER BROTHER, NUSRATUDDIN BECAME EMPEROR OF THE STATE. QAZI OF THE STATE BESIDES BEING SUPREME JUDGE OF THE STATE HAD ALSO A FINAL WORD IN THE MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE INTERPRETATION OF SHARIAT LAWS AND THEIR IMPLIMENTATION AND IN ISLAMICALY RULED STATES QAZI OF THE STATE WAS CONSIDERED TO BE HIGHER IN STATUS THAN THE EMPEROR .
IN A CASE PERTAINING TO RULING OF STATE AS PER SHARIAT LAWS, DIFFERECE CROPPED UP BETWEEN HIM AND HIS YOUNGER BROTHER ,NUSRATUDDIN ,QAZI QIDWA THEREFORE DECIDED TO LEAVE THE STATE OF ROME. DURING THE YEAR 1167 HE LEFT ROME WITH HIS WIFE BIBI SALEHA, SON AZUDDIN AND A CONTINGENT OF 500 ROMAN SOLDIERS, NUMBER OF SLAVES(GHULAM), RELATIVES, FRIENDS, BODY GUARDS, ADMIRERS AND FOLLOWERS.THE NAMES OF THE TEN MOST TRUSTED SLAVE SOLDIERS THAT WERE AROUND QAZI SAHEB DURING JOURNEY ARE AS UNDER

SULTAN SHAHABUDDIN MOHD GHAURI PROPOSED TO QAZIULQAZAT SAYYAD FAKHRULISLAM FOR THE MARRIAGE OF HIS DAUGHTER TO QAZI MAZUDDIN SON OF QAZI QIDWA. AND THUS QAZI MAZUDDIN WAS MARRIED IN THE ROYAL PALACE OF DELHI WITH AJZA D/O QAZI SAYYAD FAKHRULISLAM QAZIULQAZAT OF DELHI.
A SON WAS BORN TO QAZI MAZUDDIN’S WIFE AND QAZI QIDWA NAMED HIM AS BABA SHAHABUDDIN DUE TO HIS CLOSENESS OF RELATIONS WITH SULTAN SHAHABUDDIN MOHD. GHAURI. WHEN BABA SHAHABUDDIN ATTAINED THE AGE OF 11 YEARS , SULTAN SHAHABUDDIN MOHD GHAURI ATTAINED MARTYRDOM IN A WAR AND SULTAN ALTAMASH BECAME THE EMPEROR OF DELHI DURING THE YEAR 1210.
SULTAN ALTAMASH ALSO MAINTAINED ALL THE ROYAL HONOURS ,STATUS AND PROCOLS OF QAZI QIDWA.
QAZI QIDWA NOW DECIDED TO VISIT HIS STATE THE SUBAE AWADH ( AYODHYA)
HE THEREFORE STARTED FOR AYODHYA AROUND THE YEARS 1212-1215. DURING THE COURSE OF HIS JOURNEY, AT THE OUT-SKIRTOF LUCKNOW HE WAS ACCORDED A WARM WELCOME BY FARRUKH AND FAHEEM ,HIS SLAVE SOLDIERS WHO WERE LOOKING AFTER THE GOVERNANACE OF LUCKNOW, WITH A LARGE CONTINGENTGENT OF ARMY . HE STAYED AT LUCKNOW FOR FEW DAYS AND THEN PROCEDED FOR AYODHYA. WHEN HIS CONTINGENT REACHED NEAR JAGDEOPUR (NOW JUGGAUR ) ONE OF THE SOLDIERS FROM HIS CONTINGENT WENT INSIDE THE VILLAAGE FOR SOME URGENT NEED, THE SOLDIER WAS LOOTED AND KILLED BY THE PEOPLES OF RAJA UDAIRAJ WHO WAS THEN RULER OF JUGGAUR ( THE THEN VILLAGE JUGGAUR IN FACT DREW IT’S NAME FROM IT’S EARST-WHILE RULER RAJA JAGDEO JOGI , AND UDAI RAJ APPEARS TO BE FROM AMONGST HIS GENERATIONS ) AND LIVED THERE.
THE MESSAGE OF KILLING OF THE SOLDIER REACHED TO QAZI SAHEB AND HE PUT FARRUKH AND FAHEEM TO DEAL WITH UDAIRAJ. A FIERCE BATTLE TOOK PLACE AT THE OUT-SKIRT OF JUGGAUR AT THE PLACE NOW KNOWN AS SALARGUNJ . RAJA UDAIRAJ ALONG WITH HIS FAMILY AND PEOPLE WAS KILLED, SOME OF THE PEOPLES OF QAZI SAHEB AND MUSLIM SOLDIERS ALSO ATTAINED MARTYRDOM THEY (THE MUSLIMS) WERE BURRIED IN ‘MUNNI BHTYARIN KI BAGH’ , NEAR SOHANIA LOCALITY OF JUGGAUR. THERE STILL EXHIST SOME PUCCA GRAVE OF MARTYRES, ALTHOUGH KACHCHA GRAVES HAVE DECAYED WITH THE PASSAGE OF TIME. THE ‘MUNNIBHATYRAN KI BAGH’ IS A BIG PIECE OF LAND HAVING THESE GRAVES AND LARGE NUMBER OF MANGO AND OTHER TREES.
A BIG MOSQU WITH GRAVES OF MARTYRES ALSO EXHIST IN SOHANIA. YEARLY URS, QUL AND QAWWALIS ARE ORGANISED ON THESE GRAVES BY DEVOTEES AND ADMIRERS.FIVE TIME PRAYERS AND TARAWEE DURING RAMAZAN IS ALSO HELD IN THE MOSQU. IT IS UNDER-STOOD THAT QAZI SALAR AHMAD TURKTAZ WHO WAS FOURTH GENERATION KIN OF QAZI QIDWA AND TOOK OVER THE CHARGE OF ZAMEENDAREES OF QIDWARA VILLAGES, BUILT THE MOSQU AND PUCCA GRAVES OF HIS ANCESTORS WHO HAD ATTAINED THE MARTYRDOM DURING THE BATTLE OF JUGGAUR. THE PLACE SALARGUNJ WHERE NOW’ MUNNI BHATYARAN ‘ KI BAGH AND SOME HOUSES OF THE VILLAGERS EXHIST DRAWS IT’S NAME FROM HIM.THIS PLACE HAS HERITAGERIAL IMPORTANCE FOR ALL THE KIDWAIS .
THE STORY OF JAGDEOPUR( JUGGAUR ) WAS NARRATED TO SULTAN OF DELHI IN HIS DARBAR AND HE ORDERED THAT, THAT VILLAGE BE GIVEN TO THE SONS OF QAZI QIDWA. QAZI SAHEB ESTABLISHED HIS ZAMEENDARI IN JUGGAUR. THUS JUGGAUR BECAME THE FOUNDATION STONE AND GATE-WAY OF THE GREATER ‘ QIDWARA’ OF THE ZAMEENDAREES OF 52 VILLAGES THAT WAS LATER-ON ESTABLISHED BY QAZI QIDWA BY DEFEATING THE RESISTIVE HINDU RULERS OF THESE VILLAGES WHO WERE RULING THEM IN VARIOUS MULTIPLE COMBINATIONS.
FROM JUGGAUR QAZI QIDWA’S CONTINGENT PROCEEDED TOWARDS BARSOLI (NOW RASAULI ) WHERE HE WAS CONFRONTED BY UDAI BHAN , ARJUN AND JAGDEO WHO WERE THE BROTHERS OF RAJA GANESH AND SURAH BHAN, THE RULERS OF KARSANDA (NOW SURSANDA ) , BEHTA AND DADRA. THEY HAD HEARED ABOUT THE DEFEAT OF RAJA UDAI RAJ OF JUGGAUR AND WANTED TO AVENGE IT. THESE MEN WITH A LARGE FLEET OF ARMED FORCES ALARMED QAZI QAHEB’ CONTINGENT IN THE SRPRISE LATE NIGHT ATTACK .QAZI SAHEB’S FORCES FOUGHT BACK THE BATTLE WHICH LASTED FOR ABOUT A MONTH , AFTER WHICH QAZI SAHEB’S FORCES KILLED ALL OF THEM ALONG WITH THEIR ARMY. A BIG NO. OF QAZI SAHEB’S MEN ALSO ATTAINED MARTYRDOM.
AFTER CONCURING RASAULI, BEHTA, SURSANDA AND DADARA AND ESTABLISHING HIS ZAMEENDAREE THERE ,QAZI SAHEB PUT FARRUKH AHD FAHEEM, HIS SLAVE SOLDIERS WITH A CONTINGENT OF 507 SOLDIERS ON THEIR CONTROLL. QAZI SAHEB NOW PROCEEDED TOWARDS AYODHYA DEFEATING THE RESISTIVE SMALL TIME RULERS OF THE WAY . HE REACHED AYODHYA DURING THE YEAR 1219. QAZI SAHEB LIKED AYODHYA AND DECIDED TO LIVE THERE. HE DIED AT AYODHYA DDURING THE YEAR 1225 AT THE AGE OF 90 YEARS AND WAS BURRIED IN THE GRAVE YARD IN THE LOCALITY THEN KNOWN AS ‘QAZIANA’ AT THE BANKS OF RIVER SARYU. THIS LOCALITY VANISHED DUE TO THE FLOODS IN THE RIVER AFTER SOME TIME AND QAZI SAHEB’S DEAD BODY WAS SHIFTED TO ANOTHER GRAVE YARD AT THE OUT-SKIRT OF BABRI MOSQU. IT IS SAID THAT QAZI SAHEB TOLD TO SOME-ONE FROM HIS GENERATIONS AS ALSO THE THEN NAWAB SADAT ALI IN THEIR DREAMS THAT MY BODY BE SHIFTED ELSWHERE OTHERWISE IT WILL FLOW OFF WITH THE RIVER.
ACCAORDINGLY THE SHIFTING OF HIS DEAD BODY WAS ARRANGEDN. WHEN THE GRAVE WAS DUG FOR THIS PURPOSE, HIS DEAD BODY WAS FOUND FRESH AND WRAPED IN A CLEAN COFFIN WITH PLEASENT SMELS. THE BODY WAS BURRIED IN THE NEW GRAVE IN THE OUTER YARD OF BABRI MASJID AND IS NOW UN-TRACEABLE AFTER THE MARTYRDOM OF BABRI MASJID AND THE DESTRUCTION OF IT’S SURROUNDINGS DURING THE YEAR 1996 AND COMMUNAL RIOTS THAT FOLLOWED THEIR-OF.
QAZI SAHEB HAD MARRIED HIS GRAND SON BABA SHAHABUDDIN TO RAJI JAHAN D/O SAYYAD MOHAMMAD MEER ZAKARIA OF VILLAGE SATRIKH. IN BARABANKI DISTT.
SAYYAD MOHAMMAD MEER ZAKARIA WAS USTAD (TEACHER) OF PRINCESF RAZIA SULTANA D/O EMPEROR ALTAMASH. HIS WIFE MRS MASMAT HAD BREAST FEEDED TO RAZIA SULTANA AND THUS RAJI JAHAN AND RAZIA SULTANA WERE ‘DOODH SHAREEK SISTERS’ (BOTH WERE BREAST FEEDED BY THE WIFE OF SAYYAD MOHAMMAD MEER ZAKARIA ).
AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS FATHER ,EMPEROR ALTAMASH, DURING 1236 CENTURY A. D.,RAZIA SULTANA TOOK HIS PLACE AND RULED INDIDA FAR ABOUT EIGHT YEARS. SHE HAD COME TO SATRIKH TO MEET THE FAMILY OF SAYYAD MOHAMMAD MEER ZAKARIA AND HER ‘ DOODH SHAREEK SISTER ‘ RAJI JAHAN WIFE OF BABA SHAHABUDDIN.

ZIAUDDIN ALIAS AHMD MALIK SALAR WAS ‘SUBEDAR’ ( PROVINCIAL HEAD) OF BIHAR AND DIED THERE.
QAZI TAJUDDIN ALIAS SALAR AHMAD TURK TAZ WAS MARRIED TO THE DAUGHTER OF SHEIKH ABULFAZAL FARROOQI OF QANNAUJ. HIS SECOND MARRIAGE TOOK PLACE WITH THE D / O FAZLULLAH WHO WAS NEPHEW EMPEROR GHAYASUDDIN BALBAN.

THE ZAMEENDARI OF 52 QIDWARA VILLAGES WAS DISTRIBUTED AMONGST THESE THREE BROTHERS AND THEIR NEXT GENERATIONS BECAME THE ZAMEENDARS OF QIDWARA VILLAGES, A LARGE NUMBER OF WHICH ADOPTED QIDWAI / KIDWAI SURNAME AROUND 18TH CENTURY A.D.
DURING HIS LIFE-TIME QAZI QIDWA ESTABLISHED HIS ZAMEENDAREE IN 52 VILLAGES STARTING FROM JUGGAUR BY DEFEATING THE THEN HINDU RULERS OF THESE VILLAGES. THIS COMBINATION OF VILLAGES WAS NAMED AS ‘QIDWARA’ . HE ALSO ESTABLISHED A CITY NEAR AYODHYA NOW KNOWN AZ FAIZABAD
DURING THE PAST EIGHT DECADES THE ZAMEENDARS OF QIDWARA HAVE RENDERED A REMARKABLE CONTRIBUTION IN THE VARIOUS SPHERES OF LIFE NOT ONLY IN INDIA BUT THROUGH-OUT THE WORLD. THE NAMES OF THE VERY FEW EARLIER SAINTS FROM THIS COMMUNITY WHO HAD INCLINATION TOWARDS SUFISM ARE INDICATED HERE UNDER

YEARLY URS ARE HELD ON THESE GRAVES DURING WHICH QUL CHADAR CHARHAEE IS CARRIED OUT.
THE QIDWAIS OF BARAGAON AND MASAULI TOOK ACTIVE AND COMMENDABLE PART IN INDIA’S FREEDOM STRUGGLE DURING 1947.
THE QIDWAIS OF JUGGAUR WERE ACTIVE DURING THE FREEDOM STRUGGLE OF INDIA DURING 1847.
