This is a good article on accomplishing a one-arm headstand pushup:

amazing. I am working now on a one-arm pullup. Soon inshahallah. I have been dieting at low calorie levels lately and this has impaired any strength gains I expected. Inshahallah, I will be working on eating more and gaining strength now that the dieting is over.

Assalamu’alaikum,
How very..interesting! See, I have problems lifting weights with BOTH arms. So doing so with one arm, upside down and trying to keep your balance seems almost impossible! “One-arm dead hang” sounds painful. Be careful, brother!

Salamu alaikum,
I loved to see this blog. This is because I have often felt the same way. I have been practicing martial arts for about five years in Shaolin King Fu. The school system is a bit commercialized but I have learned quite a bit. My dream however, is to find a Sufi Tariqa or Sufi Master of the martial arts. If you find one let me know. If you find one in Las Vegas, let me know immediately! I will let you know if I find anything out myself.
By the way- I recommend anyone starting out in martial arts focus on Non-ground fighting systems with an emphasis on self defense. Many styles will do, just make sure to stick with it. You will not reach water by digging a little bit here and there. Dig deep in one place first.
I highly recommend Wing-Chun. It is also great for sisters. In fact, it was developed by a lady from the Shaolin Temple over 3,000 years ago. It is basically a distilled version of Kung-Fu.
